Cosmohood is an application that helps residential societies and their residents manage day-to-day community operations — visitor and gate approvals, maintenance dues and bills, complaints, notices, staff attendance, and amenities. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account & profile: name, phone number, flat/unit number, and optionally email address.
• Visitor & gate data: visitor name, phone, vehicle number, purpose, and visitor photos captured at the gate.
• Staff data: staff name, role, phone, optional email, and attendance check-in photos.
• Society records: complaints, bills/receipts (including uploaded documents or photos), maintenance dues, notices, and meeting minutes you create.
• Device & technical: push notification tokens (to deliver alerts), and login activity (time and device of sign-in) for account security.

How we use information

• To provide the app's features — process visitor approvals, record dues and payments, manage complaints, notices, staff attendance, and amenities.
• To send notifications (for example, a real-time visitor-approval alert to a resident).
• To secure accounts and prevent misuse.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Information is visible only within your own society, to the people who need it to run it — for example, a resident's approval request is shown to the gate staff, and committee/admins manage society records. We share data with service providers strictly to operate the app:

• Hosting — cloud infrastructure that runs the service.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications.
• Email/SMS providers — to send one-time passcodes and notifications.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data security & retention

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access is restricted to your society. We retain information for as long as your society uses the service, or as needed to comply with legal obligations.

Your choices

• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
• Residents are managed by their society's administrators; some records (such as society financial records) may be retained by the society.
• You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Children

Cosmohood is intended for adult residents and society staff. It is not directed to children.
